A bit of fun today

Today we continued to tidy up and get the place ready for another cleaning day on Saturday. It was just Diego, Marnee and me today.

I had arranged for some rubbish collection, as there was just some things that we needed to get rid of that were just there taking up room and making it difficult to clean and work around. I organised a company called PinkJunk to come and collect and dispose/recycle/upcycle all of this leftover rubbish. This company was so professional, and how they worked was that they turned up, gave you an on the spot quote, and if you are happy with that quote they will remove your rubbish then and there. If you are not happy with the quote, you are under no obligation to commit.

The Big Fag Press is a little bit difficult to access, and I had to send a couple of emails with directions to PinkJunk, in the hope that they could find us. They were fantastic, ringing me to say they were a little bit early (unheard of) and they followed my directions perfectly. As promised, they gave an on the spot quote, and I rang Lucas for approval and then they went ahead with the removal of the rubbish. I cannot begin to explain the fantastic feeling we all experienced with removal of all that clutter.

We could now see big blank spaces ready to clean, and we covered everything with plastic so that we could clean around in preparation for painting. Marnee and Lucas have planned to come in on Saturday to clean, so hopefully next week we will be ready for painting.

One of the men from the Men's Shed, who are our neighbours at the Big Fag Press, popped in to give us some advice. He mentioned that when they painted their place, they got in behind the building and dug out some of the overgrown bush to clear the way for plumbing. So on our way back from coffee, Diego decided we too should explore behind the building. He did mention that at some time there had been a murder in that vicinity, and said it could be haunted. So we climbed through and had a look, it was a bit of a laugh as when I took some photos, there was a light that was showing up in the picture, yet there was no light reflecting anywhere there, so it was all a bit spooky. It was good to break up the routine with a bit of fun.

It is strange that my computer kept crashing when I tried to load this photo of us behind the Big Fag Press . . . . definitely spooky!
