The first working bee

Saturday was our first official working bee day. And everyone worked really hard. Eloise' father, Roger, came to help out, he was fantastic and such a big help. There was a lot of heavy lifting, especially the plan drawers full of fine art prints and archives. Luckily it was such a lovely day, that we could move these outside which allowed us to use the pressure hose inside to clean out years of dust and dirt.

It was really frustrating because in order to move the plan drawers, we had to move each drawer individually to one side of the BFP, stack them, move the drawer shell outside, then move all the plan drawers back into the drawer shell outside. Then we had to clean that space, wait for it to dry off, and then repeat that whole process again by moving the plan drawers back inside. It was exhausting work, and towards the end we left all the heavy lifting to Diego and Roger as it was just too heavy for the rest of us.

The day was filled with moving, vacuuming and using the carter pressure washer. It was very satisfying to see the place clean up after all that heavy lifting. However, it was daunting because we only got to clean one side of the space and had a long way to go.
